Most Precious and Personal Gift

W

We must share our most precious and personal gift to the world, Jesus Christ!

As we think about gift giving this year, the best gift one could ever give is sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.  God shared His precious and personal gift with the world as it was announced years ago, to shepherds in the field.  Luke 2:11-12; “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be the sign to you: You will find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothe, lying in a manger.”

The gift of Jesus was and is a gift of God’s love to the world.  John 3:16 states this truth plainly; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” The reason that God gave the gift of His Son to the world is because everyone that is born in this world is born with a sinful nature.  Sin and God cannot exist together.  God had to provide a way for people to have their sins forgiven, and He did this through His Son Jesus.  Jesus died on the cross paying the price for everyone’s sins and conquered sin when He rose again on the third day.

The gift of Jesus is one that never grows old and in fact becomes more valuable as each year passes by.  God’s word tells us that Christ will return one day to gather His children home.  People who have prayed and asked Jesus to forgive them for their sins and be their Lord and Savior will be those who will go with Jesus.  As each day moves closer to Christ return, the gift of Jesus becomes more valuable.

Another one of God’s most precious and personal gift is YOU!  You are valuable to God, so much so, that He gave His Son up for you, but also that He wants you to share His gift of Jesus to others.  This is what Christmas is really all about.  We are created to have a personal relationship with God and to share God’s most precious gift to the world.  If you are wondering what gift to give someone this year and do not know what to give, let me suggest that you give the gift of Jesus.

When you share the most precious and personal gift to the world, Jesus Christ, you have given the best gift that money cannot buy.
