God In The Center

God has to be the epicenter to which everything operates from in our lives.

An earthquake is felt the strongest at its center.  The epicenter is where the greatest force and tension lies.  The ripples flowing from the center affects the countryside for many miles making changes in the topography.

God’s word in Zechariah 4:6 says; “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.”  If we want to affect the world around us, we have to let our lives be powered by God.  When God is in the center of our lives, the ripples of His power in us will be felt by those around us.

Consider a wagon wheel.  The hub of the wheel holds the weight and burden of everything that is put on it.  The sections of the wheel (the space between the spokes) only hold the weight when it touches the ground. When Christ is the center of our lives, the weight of everything else in our lives will revolve around Him.  Everything we do in life should honor and please God.

Life gets messy and we do not make a great impact on others when we move Christ out of the center and replace Him with something else.  Consider one of the sections between two spokes to represent YOU.  When we put YOU in the center and move Christ into its section, then YOU will carry all the load and burden of your life and Christ only enters in when His section touches the ground as we roll along.  God only enters in when the burden gets so heavy that we cry out to Him for help.  When Jesus answers our plea, His power will be felt by those around only as long as His section is on the ground.  When we take control again, then the Lord’s power is not felt.

We only have one life to live here on earth.  If we want our lives to make the greatest impact on other, then God has to be the epicenter to which everything operates from.
